Building tools, not only using them.

My computing research investigates how complex systems can be expressed, compiled, simulated and executed efficiently. It spans domain-specific languages, parallel discrete-event simulation, many-core systems and distributed middleware.

This work provides both an independent publication record and a practical foundation for GTG Cell Studio and Pentarnion Studio. The common thread is making a formal model into a usable computational system.

Modelling and simulation languages.

Published work on optimistic simulation and PSML addresses the description and simulation of complex hardware and embedded platforms. Current interests include extending reusable modelling and simulation infrastructure across scientific and engineering domains.

Distributed infrastructure.

Parvicursor, DotDFS and DotGrid investigate the construction of distributed systems, cross-platform execution and high-throughput data movement. These projects connect systems architecture with practical implementation.

Teaching the implementation.

My book, Implementing Parallel and Distributed Systems, develops the principles and construction of native C++ systems, parallel programming and distributed infrastructure.

Let’s investigate what comes next.

I welcome conversations across mathematical modelling, experimental physiology and scientific computing.
